AVC COVID-19 update
November 09, 2020
Re. COVID-19 update
Dear Members,
Thank you for your continued efforts to follow COVID-19 safety protocols and keep our community safe.
On November 07, 2020, British Columbia's top health officials announced sweeping new COVID-19 restrictions for the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions for a two-week period as cases in the province surge.
Most relevant elements of the new Public Health Officer order
Socialize only with those in your immediate household, as defined by the PHO. No gatherings of any size. Do not invite friends or family to your household.
No social gatherings of any size with anyone other than your immediate household. This includes indoor and outdoor gatherings.
Travel into and out of the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley should be limited to essential travel only.
What does this mean in our Co-op?
We strongly encourage that only one household at a time use:
The playground area; with exception and priority for daycare use.
Laundry room. Please enter via the hallway and exit via the Common Room.
Elevators. If you are able, please consider using the stairs to minimize congestion.
Bike rooms.
Workshop.
Common room and lobby.
We also strongly encourage masks to be worn in all indoor common areas of the Co-op, including hallways, the lobby, and the parking elevator lobby.
In addition:
Children should not play in interior corridors and the lobby.
Follow our posted COVID-19 guidelines for rooftop garden use.
COHO maintenance continues to clean door handles and elevators three times per week.
Co-op Board updates
The Co-op Board will continue to review the COVID-19 situation and provincial health guidance on a regular basis and will provide updates as needed. If you have any questions or concerns, we are happy to hear from you.
Co-op floor buddies
Continue to take care of your own wellbeing and that of others, e.g. check-in with neighbours safely to help deliver food, medication, or assist in other ways. The following wonderful neighbours have offered to be Co-op floor buddies to answer questions and help communicate your needs to the wider AV Co-op community.
