COVID-19 update in light of BC Restart Plan
Dear Members,
The Co-op Board continues to review the COVID-19 situation and would like to draw your attention to BC’s new COVID-19 BC Restart Plan.
What does this mean in our Co-op?
Based on our understanding of the BC Restart Plan, it would have the following implications for activities in our common areas:
Step 1 (Complete): Indoor personal gatherings up to 5 visitors or 1 other household; Outdoor personal gatherings up to 10 people.
Step 2 (Now): Indoor personal gatherings up to 5 visitors or 1 other household; Outdoor personal gatherings up to 50 people (birthday parties, backyard BBQs, block parties); Playdates.
Step 3 (earliest Jul 1): Return to usual for indoor and outdoor personal gatherings; Sleepovers.
Step 4 (earliest Sep 7): Return to normal personal gatherings and social contact.
Use of facemasks indoors
- Masks are strongly encouraged in our indoor elevators, hallways, lobby, laundry room, common room, bike rooms, and stairwell
- Masks become a personal choice in Step 4
Use of our Common Room
- Up to 5 additional people during Step 2
- Common Room reopen for bookings on July 1 as part of Step 3 return to usual for indoor and outdoor personal gatherings
Use of the rooftop gardens
- Up to 50 people during Step 2 for outdoor personal gatherings and return to usual in Step 3
Use of lobby, bike room and laundry room
- Up to 5 additional people during Step 2 and a return to usual in Step 3
Elevator Use
- Follow current public health guidance (especially on masks, distancing, washing hands, and staying home if sick until at least Step 4).
- Be a good neighbour and ask before joining them on the elevator. Please be considerate of neighbours who may not feel comfortable taking an elevator together yet, may have accessibility needs, or specific vulnerabilities.
As we navigate a slow return to normal, please respect each other and remember that our community will likely appreciate us approaching from a place of caution.
We want to hear from you
If you have feedback about any of the above, please contact us using the Contact the Board Form to inform our Board discussion on this topic at our June 23rd meeting.
