• Minutes from previous meeting approved by Kristy and Francesca
• Thank you to the event hosts from previous month – Movie Night, Harvest Festival, and Cookie Social
• Waiting to hear back from Tara about first aid course (see action item for Kristy below)
• Jenny Woodruff will do Christmas card and gift exchange
• We may need to spread the word about the mission of the events committee, mainly about how to involve all members in organizing events 
• Thank you to everyone who showed up to the cleanup of the common room, lobby and playground (A few 
• Rex checked the ping pong table and determined what we need to buy (balls, paddles and covers)
• Purchased a clock, metal bowls, and bins for common room
• Francesca had a meeting with Bashir to set expectations
  • Requested 2 additional poster holders
  • No taping on the door of the elevator doors
  • Problems posed by insurance company – common property (where they are left – can’t be blocking any exits) – events committee has put an interim measure of a parking space for all toys in the playground
  • Francesca submitted proposal for toys in the playground and waiting for Board to approve before putting a permanent parking space signage
  • Requested dimming lights for Halloween but Bashir is checking with Dee on how this was done last year
  • Bashir will include Common room signage in the print order (checklist of cleanup after using common room)
  • It is Bashir’s responsibility to put away chairs after every co-op members’ meetings, e.g. Visioning Committee meetings, AGM
  • Francesca warned Bashir that brown chairs collapse if someone over 90kg sits on them
  • No insurance claim will be made on the events committee/AV equipment stolen last month (less than $1,000 per piece)
  • Changes are being made to security of the AV equipment (increased locks)

 Action Items

• Francesca to update hosting signage in the elevator (Host a Lantern/Crafting Night for winter solstice)
• Kristy to check in with Tara about first aid course for members
• Kristy to check in with Sarah if she’s interested in doing a Christmas cookie exchange
• Kristy - check with Pooneh about the Winter Craft Fair
• In November, remind Board about COHO Christmas bonuses
• Kristy to track down hosts for Christmas caroling
• Find possible host for New Year’s Eve gathering
• Check with Deb about kids’ winter craft fair
• Communicate during the AGM and GM the mission (initiative and goals) of the events committee and bring up other events committee members to help co-op members know who they can address if they have problems
• Check with Board on alternatives to common room window curtains (Marcelo suggested Ikea black out roller blinds) – Kristy will look into the blinds and Marisol will look into adding a stopper so blinds do not go up too high for members to reach
• Francesca to put in work order for the broken playground lights
• Kristy will seek out ping pong covers and paddles
• Kristy will lend ping pong balls
• Will need to request from the workshop committee about helping fix the sides of the ping pong table
• Francesca to buy plastic labels for label maker to label bowls for the common room
