The New Member Orientation Committee will:

• Research, develop, and implement New Member Handbook, New Member Buddy program, and New Member Orientation.

To accomplish this, the Committee will:

• Conduct research for new actions/strategies AVC can take to welcome and orient new members

• Engage existing membership to gather information for new membership materials and orientation and to become New Member Buddies, when needed.

History/Why the Committee was started:

AVC’s membership has expressed that there is a lack of unified information and orientation for new members. The new membership committee seeks to ensure:

• The AVC community provides input about information new members will receive

• New members are promptly and supportively welcomed 

• New members are given information and orientation opportunities that will make them feel welcome, oriented, and prepared to participate in the AVC community. 

Resources and Budget

The Board and COHO will provide the Committee with any relevant move-in data as requested. The Committee will request a budget to conduct research, to create and update New Member welcome materials, and to hold new member orientation events.

Governance

All recommendations agreed to by the majority of the Committee will be put forward to the Board.

Frequency: The New Member Orientation Committee will meet as needed. We will communicate by Whatsapp between meetings.
