About

The Sustainability Committee will research and develop guidance for AVC Board of Directors regarding actions AVC can take to increase its social and environmental sustainability. To accomplish this, the Committee will:

• Conduct research for new actions/strategies AVC can take to increase sustainability
• Draft sustainability proposals for consideration by the Board
• Conduct consultation with AVC Members on proposed sustainability actions
• Compile feedback from AVC Members and provide recommendations to the Board
• Develop plans to undertake actions that will increase AVC’s sustainability

History/why the committee was started

Sustainability is a founding principle of AVC. AVC’s sustainability needs have changed within the last few years and require urgent attention as we are in a climate emergency.

Resources and budget

The Board and COHO will provide the Committee with any relevant technical data as requested.

Meetings

Frequency: The Sustainability Committee will meet once a month on the 2nd Tuesday from 7:15pm - 8:30pm. We will communicate by email between meetings.
